Position Summary

Our Security Officers are responsible for safeguarding and protecting our clients' employees, visitors and facilities. Security Officers provide excellent customer service, respond to incidents, call for service, conduct regular security patrols and document activity while helping to sustain a creative work environment at the site. 

There are multiple shift and location options, overtime, promotion opportunities and provided training. 

Shift Availability

CSS currently has multiple sites, shifts and positions available. We offer a flexible schedule and overtime is available. 

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for our Part-Time Security Officers starts at $25.75 an hour. Additional compensation includes a $1,000 hiring bonus, shift differential pay of $2.00/hour for graveyard shifts, referral bonuses and performance-based raises.

Essential Position Responsibilities:

  • Complete and deliver timely and accurate reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities. 

  • Conduct effective security patrols.

  • Execute and enforce client-specific tasks.

  • Maintain client confidential.

  • Observe, report, and prevent incidents by providing a physical presence. 

  • Provide support in the event of an emergency or alarm.

  • Provide excellent customer service to our clients.

  • Observe, survey, and report activities at the assigned site. 

  • Enforce client procedures, regulations and standards. 

  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting unusual activity or circumstances. 

  • Inspects buildings and access points.

  • Ability to adhere to all client policies, rules, regulations, and local and federal laws. 

  • Supports investigations, conducts surveillance; and gathering of facts. 

  • Responsible for properly caring for all company and client-provided equipment, such as Cyber Keys, Radios, I.D Badges; and Vehicle upkeep.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned. 

Education, Certifications and License Requirements:

  • Must posses a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid CA BSIS Guard Card Certification. 

  • Valid US State-issued Driver's License.

  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain after employment.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.

  • Ability to evaluate and deescalate conflicts/arguments. 

  • Ability to remain calm while under pressure. 

  • Accurate and detailed report writing. 

  • Individuals must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide verifiable proof of their vaccination status or have a valid accommodation or exemption. 

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, indoors and outdoors, under various environments conditions. 

  • Good interpersonal skills. 

  • Comfortable using technology.

  • Neat and professional appearance. 

  • Read, understand, and speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) to communicate with the public/co-workers, give and receive instructions, and use phones.

  • Exceptional attention to detail. 

  • Familiarity with various patrolling and monitoring techniques. 

  • Interact and communication effectively. 

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate with various personalities in a business office environment. 

Important Note:

CSS' maintains a primary office location at Moffett Federal Airfield (MFA) in Mountain View, CA. The Federal Government has primary Law Enforcement authority at this location. Federal Law and Rules apply to both on-duty and off-duty conduct within the MFA/NASA Ames Research Center Property boundaries. CSS employees may undergo Federal Background Checks in conjunction with their assigned role.
