About the Role
Are you a strategic HR leader who thrives at the intersection of people strategy and operational excellence? Command Security Services, LP is looking for a Deputy Human Resources Manager who does more than just "manage" HR—we need a partner.
In this role, you won't just be overseeing compliance and payroll; you will be a consultant to our security leadership, a coach to our managers, and a data-driven architect of our company culture. You will lead an HR team dedicated to supporting a 24/7 security workforce, ensuring our "people strategy" fuels our mission to provide world-class security services
What You’ll Do
- Be a Strategic Advisor: Partner directly with the Director of Security and Senior Managers to solve human capital challenges and improve operational readiness.
- HR Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise and support a small HR team of two.
- Collaborate with Operations and other departments to align HR initiatives with company goals.
- Serve as Acting HR Manager in their absence, with full oversight of payroll and benefits functions.
- Coach & Develop: Transform traditional disciplinary actions into opportunities for professional growth. You will guide our leadership team on performance management and the retention of top talent.
- Drive Talent Strategy: Work with our Business Analysts to forecast labor needs, build recruitment pipelines, and implement "stay" initiatives to reduce turnover.
- Master Compliance: Navigate the complexities of CA labor law and BSIS regulations, ensuring our policies are as agile as our field teams.
- Leverage Data: Use HRIS data to tell a story. You’ll maintain dashboards that track turnover, training compliance, and ROI to help our leadership make informed decisions.
- Lead the Team: Provide direct supervision and mentorship to the HR Generalist and Payroll Specialist, ensuring seamless departmental operations.
- A Consultative Partner: You can "speak the language" of operations and security, influencing senior leaders with confidence and empathy.
- A Problem Solver: You navigate high-pressure environments with discretion, resilience, and a "fair-process" mindset.
- Analytical & Technical: You are an expert in Google Suite and HRIS platforms, with a knack for turning raw data into visual dashboards.
- An Expert Leader: You have a deep understanding of California employment law and the unique challenges of managing a field-based workforce.
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field; 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a strategic or leadership capacity.
- Certification: PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong familiarity with BSIS regulations and security industry operations is a significant plus.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to any audience.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional nontraditional hours to support our 24/7 field-based teams.
We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Competitive salary $75,000-$80,000
- Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), 10 paid holidays, and client holidays annually
- Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
